Barns Ness
Barns Ness is a headland on the East Lothian Coast just south of Dunbar. Noted for it's fossils and coral, it is easily accessed from the A1 near Torness nuclear power station. Prominent on the headland is Barns Ness lighthouse. Completed in 1901, the lighthouse is no longer operational and is privately owned.
Gullane & Aberlady Bay
Gullane & Aberlady are a small town and village to the east of Edinburgh near North Berwick.
Gullane is famed for it's golf courses - including Muirfield, the British Open Championship venue .
Aberlady is a beautiful conservation village on the road from Gullane to Edinburgh. Declared a Local Nature Reserve in 1952, Aberlady Bay was the first such reserve in the UK. It is also a sight of Special Scientific Interest.
